SMS & A2P 10DLC Compliance

Last Updated: June 25, 2026

Starling AI provides a messaging platform that businesses use to communicate with their own contacts over SMS. This page describes how SMS messaging works on Starling AI, the rights of message recipients, and our approach to mobile carrier and A2P 10DLC compliance. It supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Who sends the messages

Starling AI is a technology provider. The businesses that use Starling AI (each, a “Client”) determine the recipients, content, timing, and consent status of the messages sent through the platform. As between Starling AI and a Client, the Client is the sender of its messages and is responsible for compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, state messaging laws, and all applicable carrier requirements.

Message types and frequency

Messages sent through the platform may include lead follow-up, appointment scheduling and reminders, conversational replies, and account or service notifications. Message frequency varies and depends on each Client’s configuration and your interactions.

Opt-out and help

You are always in control of the messages you receive:

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe and stop further messages.
  • Reply HELP for assistance.

Opt-out requests are honored promptly, and once you opt out you will not receive further messages from that program unless you opt back in.

Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Starling AI does not charge recipients for messages.

Messages are only sent to recipients who have provided the consent required by law to the relevant business. Each Client is responsible for obtaining and maintaining proof of that consent before any message is sent, and for honoring opt-outs on an ongoing basis.

A2P 10DLC registration

Application-to-person (A2P) messaging in the United States is delivered over carrier networks under the 10DLC framework. Messaging brands and campaigns are registered with The Campaign Registry as required, with accurate business information, use-case descriptions, sample messages, and opt-in details. Clients are responsible for the accuracy of registration information associated with their messaging.

Privacy of your mobile information

Mobile opt-in information is never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent collected for messaging are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how information is handled.
